Goodbye Summer 2014

summer I think we can all agree that summer was a bit of a late bloomer this year. From late night hangouts with friends, squished between thousands at a music festival, tanning all day at the beach, going away for a weekend camping trip, etc., many find summer to be the most memorable time of the year. My music taste tends to come in seasonal waves. While I mostly prefer rock and indie acts, which you can probably tell by my previous posts, there’s something about the laid back, almost nostalgic nature of summer that encourages me to bring other genres into the mix. Fall 2013 Playlist

        With the lowering of temperatures lately, it’s clear that winter is approaching. The Grammys 2012: Honoring Real or Commercial Talent?

In general, I really enjoyed this year’s Grammy’s.  I thought they did a much better job honoring the artists that deserved recognition than they usually do.  In fact, I’m kind of regretting not placing bets on who would win because I would have made a lot of money.  However, there were significant errors, some of which I’m still baffled by. The Civil Wars w/ Milo Greene @ the Vic Nov. 6

I had some pretty high expectations for the Civil Wars show at the Vic.  First off, the Vic only shows really well-deserving artists.  You could even get this sense from the music they played before and after each set.  In fact, I wish they had the song and artist playing displayed somewhere.  So, I was expecting only the best.  I wasn’t expecting, however, for there to be two incredible acts that still have me thinking back to their performances, but that’s exactly what happened.
